On
6 Feb 1975 Rotary Club of Queenstown, whose Mother Club is RC Singapore West,
was founded. Charter Member PDG Chris took the occasion of the Club’s 37th
birthday to talk about RCQS’ history. He mentioned among others that in the
beginning you could become a member only if you had either your residence or
office in the” territory” of RC of Queenstown. Since the existing Rotary Clubs
in Singapore occupied the days Tuesday to Friday for their meetings, RC of
Queenstown decided to hold its weekly meeting on Mondays.
Further to that, Rtn David who is with Morgan Stanley
gave his classification talk. He also invited his colleague Mike who is a
member of Morgan Stanley’s Corporate Social Responsibility Board. Mike
introduced Morgan Stanley’s CSR projects to members and guests.
PE Chee updated members and guests on the Major
Project 2011/2012 targeting the elimination of
malnutrition from children in Timor-Leste. RCQS
organises a Charity Jazz Concert by The Summertimes Bigband on 27 March 2012 at
7:30pm (Venue: Tanglin Club) whose proceeds go towards the project. To learn more about the Major Project,
