RCQ - Weekly Newsletter_20_Sept_2021


 Monday, 20 Sept 2021; 25 Rotary Club of Queenstown members and friends met via zoom.

A most interesting vocational talk by Cathy Livingston, who has a Masters of Art in Counselling and specialises in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). This clinical work is in the area of trauma and abuse, attachment injuries, depression and anxiety, personal identity, relationship and family issues. 

 Updates for the week:

1.       Donations by RCQ to the “Shoe Box Mission”.
               Monies have been used to purchase groceries to feed the needy in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

2.       RCQ supported the World Cleanup Day on 18 September where five RCQ members got up at the crack of dawn to clean up the East Coast Beach. 100kg of rubbish (including Snakes, credit cards and more were bagged and disposed. World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program aimed at combating the global solid waste problem, including the problem of marine debris. It is coordinated by the global organization

                      The next World Cleanup Day is 17 September 2022. Do mark your calendar!

3.      Boy's Toys! A visit to Rtn Farouk’s warehouse allowed Rtn Bruno D, Rtn Connor, Rtn Hannes and PP Jack the opportunity to see, feel and ask questions about this beautiful teak wood. Delicate Burmese tea sipped at the end of the tour wrapped up the vocational service emersion journey.
