13 July marked the first regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Queenstown for Rotary Year 2026–2027. The meeting commenced with IPP Marcel Furrer ceremonially handing over the Club bell to President Shikha Malhotra, symbolising the formal transition of leadership and the start of a new Rotary year. Affectionately known as "Madam President," Shikha admits there's still room to perfect her bell-ringing skills - but she's off to a promising start!

The presentation introduced members to developments in regenerative therapy and their applications within the aesthetics industry, including blue light & red-light therapies.

The RCQ weekly meeting on Monday, 20 July was chaired by President Shikha, who shared Club updates and announcements before welcoming the evening’s guest speaker, Singaporean magician Aman Alhamid, for his presentation, “Magic with Meaning”. Aman captivated members with a series of skillful illusions that combined surprise, humor, and audience participation. What distinguished the presentation was the way Aman used magic as a vehicle for storytelling. Between illusions, he shared reflections on self-belief, personal growth, and the importance of recognizing possibilities that may not be immediately visible.
One memorable highlight saw Aman present a personalised name card to a member. As he handed it over, his wallet appeared to burst briefly into flames before the fire vanished, leaving everyone amazed! (and of course, unharmed!)

The meetingwas chaired by President Shikhaand featured a presentation by Amran Jamil, Executive Director of FRCS Family Service Centre (FSC), together with our very own PP Jeyan Nadarajah, Chairman of FRCS FSC.
Their presentation, “FRCS Family Service Centre: The Front Line to the Community”, introduced members to the Centre’s structure, history, areas of responsibility, and current project priorities. They also reflected on the involvement and contributions of Rotary clubs in Singapore over the years, highlighting the opportunity for RCQ to partner on similar initiatives.
Bringing back the tradition of celebrating Monthly Birthdays, we celebrated July-born members PP Chee Kan, PP Hannes, PE Anne, and Rtn Augustin over a Strawberry Pistachio Cake (which I forgot tasting!)
On June 30, 2026, Jeyan Nadarajah, our Rotary Foundation Chair, received the Polioplus Champion club banner on behalf of our club from DG Dr Shahul at the joint RC Changi installation dinner and DG Handover.

On July 11, 2026, Afsaneh Leissner, Chair Public Image 2025-2026, was awarded Rotarian of the Year RY25-26 on President Shikha's installation night.

After RCQ’s successful field trip Quang Tri in Vietnam this past April and RCQ's request for project ideas smaller than Global Grant’s, PP Tam from RC Quang Tri (RCQT) send us 2 project proposals for Project #1 (Barista) and #2 (Handicraft).
Project #1 - Barista
PURPOSE To equip hearing-impaired youth with professional barista and workplace skills, creating pathways to employment, social inclusion, and financial independence.
