May has been a month of two monumental events. Firstly, six RC Queenstown members set out to Kuching for the District Conference 3310, representing our club with a purpose.
The highlight of the month was undoubtedly the Rotary International Convention held from 25 to 29 May at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, Singapore.
More than 14,000 Rotarians from across the globe converged in Singapore to connect, collaborate and develop innovative solutions for a better world.
Through the RI Convention, our members embraced the opportunity to forge new friendships, rekindle old ones and immerse in the rich Rotary Global Network. From inspiring keynote speakers to engaging breakout sessions, the air was filled with the spirit of "Service Above Self".
As we look ahead, we will continue to make a meaningful difference in the world, one Rotary moment at a time!

Friday, 3 May 2024; Rotary Club of Queenstown members volunteered for the community project at "Willing Hearts". The members were cutting up vegetables and delivering food all over Singapore.
"Willing Hearts" is wholly run by volunteers, apart from a handful of staff. It operates a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes about 7,000 daily meals to over 70 locations island wide, 365 days a year. Beneficiaries include the elderly, the disabled, low income families, children from single parent families or otherwise poverty stricken families, and migrant workers in Singapore
Friday, 10 May 2024; 11 members from the Rotary Club of Queenstown went on a vocational visit to the Goethe Institute organised by Rtn Anne Sophie.
It was an opportunity to learn of the many options that is offered at the Goethe Institute, besides learning the German language, exchange programmes, support of the arts etc.
There was also an elegant spread of bubbly, pretzels, cakes and sandwiches at the end of the visit.

Rtn Felix Lim of the Rotary Club of Queenstown, Singapore and Rtn Rita Aggarwal of the Rotary Club of Nagpur, Maharashtra, India gave an outstanding open dialogue on Sunday 19 May 2024 for the radio interview with Susan Ng, host of Our Town programme on CNA938 (https://www.melisten.sg/radio/cna938).
The topic: mental health, both Felix and Rita are practising psychologists.
