As the dawn of the new year unfolds, the Rotary Club of Queenstown is gearing up for an exciting and dynamic year ahead, coinciding with the auspicious Year of the Dragon. Known for its vibrant and socially active community, the Club boasts more than 50 members who passionately rally together for various causes close to their hearts.

At the forefront of this year's endeavours is President Elect, Mr. Farouk Merchant's major project that has captured the hearts of over 70 Rotarians, their families, and friends. The project is a testament to the Club's commitment to making a meaningful impact in the community.

The focal point of this collective effort is the Bhakti Luhur Yjogya major project, an initiative aimed at providing underprivileged children with the opportunity for a brighter future through access to essential resources - food and education. This project reflects the Rotary Club of Queenstown's dedication to addressing crucial societal issues and creating positive change.

RCQ dinner meetings:
Monday 8 Janaury 2024, dinner meeting.
Rtn Sophia Feng gave her classification talk about her journey from Law into the world of Art and Philanthropy.

At the dinner, Rtn Anne-Sophie generously provided "Galette des Rois, or King Cake" This is a french dessert that is shared throughout the month of Janaury in honour of Epiphany. Each galette or cake contains a ceramic "feve" or token and one gold paper crown hidden inside. Whoever receives the slice with the crown is king (or queen) for the day.

This accomplishment underscores the club's dedication to supporting projects that address critical needs, promote peace, and improve lives around the world.

As the Rotary Club of Queenstown continues its journey toward full PHF status, the club remains committed to making a positive impact in the community and beyond, guided by the principles of Rotary service.
