Pan Borneo Meet was indeed a week of great Rotary Fellowship in Tawau, Sabah. followed by a trip to Pandana Island resort from 15 to 20 September 2023.
Five Rotary Club of Queenstown members attended this well organised, fun and great Rotary fellowship event. President Denise Wong, PP Erich Schneider, PP Terry Ng, PP Jeyan Nadarajan and PP Linda Gouw
Thank you to RC Tawau for working so hard to put together such a memorable time.
1. Pan Borneo Meet Joint Project Fund (RM 1000) at Grace Alternative Learning Center for Undocumented Children in Tawau, Sabah, East Malaysia. The funds were used to purchase music instruments for the undocumented children.
- Rotary Club of Queenstown contributed to the 2023 Pan Borneo Music Room. RCQ is proud to be part of this Rotary project which has touched so many lives.
2. The welcome night was so fun with "Balik Kampong" as the theme. Everyone came in their best "Kampong" attire . Batiks, singlets, flip flops. Superb hospitality and so sweet and fresh sea food.
3. Hiking up Tawau Hills Park with engagement not only in the hike but also the presentations in the lecture room before the hike, to learn about conservation of the rainforest and endangered animals. Young and old made it to the tallest tropical tree in the world and some munched on life Sago Worms (Butod).
4. The Governor's banquet with Batik theme had a kaleidoscope of batiks and most importantly Rotary friendship and warmth.
5. Sun, Sea and Sand followed with one group going to Semporna for island hoping and continuing on the bus jouney to KK. Another group going on to Pandanan Island with white beaches, azure sea and magnificant sunsets.
